100 PSI VS 30 PSI FUEL PRESSURE
The difference in deciding between a 100 PSI and 30 PSI Diesel Fuel Pressure Gauge primarily involves which type of engine you have in your truck. The 100 PSI Electronic Fuel Pressure Gauge is designed for Ford 6.0L Power Stroke, 6.7L Power Stroke, and 7.3L Power Stroke engines which are found in many editions of Ford F-Series trucks as well as the E-Series and Ford Excursion. The 30 PSI FPR Gauge works with 12v Cummins and 24v Cummins engines, found in trucks such as the Ram 2500 & 3500. Ultimately, if your truck is putting added stress on the engine and running higher fuel pressure, 100 PSI gas gauges may be the right fit.
HOW DO I GET FUEL PRESSURE READINGS FOR MY DURAMAX
The first step in installing your diesel fuel pressure gauge is making sure your Duramax has an aftermarket lift pump. GMC and Chevy Duramax pickup trucks do not have this pump to supply fuel to the engine. It is also integral to the installation of an automotive fuel pressure gauge, namely 30 PSI MaxTow Double Vision™ custom pressure gauges which will install directly into this aftermarket lift pump. You’ll experience a constant and steady fuel pressure, resulting in increased fuel efficiency, better throttle response and a smoother idle.
HOW TO USE A FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE
Fuel Pressure Gauge Sets at MaxTow include an Electronic Fuel PSI Gauge Sensor, Sensor Harness, Power Harness and Hardware for Fuel Pressure Gauge mounting. Connect the sender to your fuel PSI source location including the fuel rail, fuel filter housing, lift pump or fuel line. Then plug the sensor harness into your electronic fuel pressure gauge and attach the power harness to your truck battery or another 12 volt power source. Once complete you'll be able to monitor extremely accurate diesel fuel pressure gauge readings to achieve optimal levels.
