WHY IS OIL PRESSURE SO IMPORTANT ON A DIESEL?
Oil pressure is one of the most important aspects of a diesel engine. Oil is essentially the lifeblood of your truck, and while it protects your truck’s systems you must also ensure that it is being distributed evenly and efficiently through your diesel engine. If your oil pressure is too low, there could be several reasons why. The most straightforward is that there is not enough oil in the system. This could be caused by leaks, or by consumption and evaporation of oil through normal usage. You could also be burning more oil, which is often the case with worn piston rings or an older diesel engine which tends to burn off oil at a higher rate.
TRUCK OIL PRESSURE GAUGE KIT
To install MaxTow's oil pressure gauge in trucks you'll have key parts required for the process. Included is a 1/8-27 NPT Electronic Pressure Sensor, 9’ Sensor Harness, 5’ Power Harness, Mounting Bracket and Mounting Bracket Hardware. Add the electronic sender to your truck's system in many cases by using an Oil Galley Test Port, Oil Filter Adapter or T-Fitting. With a Double Vision® truck oil pressure gauge you'll gain direct access to extremely accurate oil PSI readings for your diesel application.
FORD POWERSTROKE DIESEL OIL PRESSURE READINGS
When it comes to your OBS, 6.0L Power Stroke, 7.3L Power Stroke and other Power Stroke engines, maintaining proper oil pressure levels is extremely important. For an even easier installation of your oil pressure gauge, MaxTow also has a Low Oil Pressure Thread Adapter for Ford 6.0L & 7.3L Power Stroke, as well as a Sensor Thread Adapter Swap Kit for LS Engines. Your Power Stroke diesel engine’s injectors work with hydraulics, using engine oil to drive them. Oil is run through a low pressure oil pump which pushes oil to the oil filter. From there it is distributed to other parts of your diesel truck engine such as the cam, rocker arms, lifters, main bearings, injectors and more.
